Dodworth St John’s parish plays an essential part in running our school. The Christian ethos is an integral part of all areas of school life, from the daily collective worship and celebration of Christian festivals. We believe that Christian practice helps to teach tolerance, respect and values and helps to equip children to deal with the diverse and challenging society that we live in today.
Every Sunday at 10.00am is the Holy Communion with hymns. Everyone is always welcome. Tea and coffee is served on the first Sunday of every month. Sunday School is also held every week at 10.00am for one hour whilst the main service is going on. All children are welcome but a parent/guardian must remain in church during the session. Children under the age of 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult at Sunday School.
The first Sunday in every month during term time children from school are invited along to sing as part of our church service.
Thursdays: Holy Communion
This is a short, said service to which all people are welcome. The service begins at 9.30am and lasts approximately half an hour.
Thursdays: Cake and Refreshments
Bring a friend along to a friendly coffee, tea and cake morning starting from 10.15am onwards.
Thursdays: Parent and Toddler Session
Parents/Carers and Pre school children meet to sing, read a story, do some craft, play and chat. This is a great opportunity to discuss christenings/baptisms. The sessions run from 2.00pm for approximately one hour. This will be held during term time only.
